she still remembered the drill – stand tall, act tough, wear a bored stare in your eyes and snap at everyone that tries to start a conversation. but it was hard to be her usual cold self with audrey constantly babbling about something next to her. the girl was... loud. and obnoxious. and most of the time terribly annoying, but she was also stubborn and she didn't take no for an answer so she ended up at this stupid frat party with her. they were supposed to meet with her stud and his friend – her words not indie's and most of the guests at the party were already throwing up in the front yard. what a sight. she rearranged her tight top while balancing the drink in her hand, careful not to spill anything. if she wanted to survive this torturous evening, she'll need a proper buzz and drink gallons of tequila. there was nothing more pathetic than a bunch of college youth, throwing themselves at each other while stumbling along the dance floor. someone bumped her shoulder and she sent a terrifying glare towards that sucker. this was stupid. why was she even here? why did she agree to this? it was like her backbone has been temporarily removed. raising her glass she quickly drowned the liquor in it and completely tuned audrey out. there was no point in listening to her, since she was probably rating guys around them. drunk guys. grabby guys. dickheads.
after five minutes of being completely silent, she finally let out a reaction. and it wasn't because of audrey and it wasn't because of the stupid frat boy leaning against the wall next to her. it was because someone was standing right in front of her, too close, while her so-called friend was hugging the guy next to him. he was offering her his hand and she was now staring at that certain hand, contemplating whether it was even worth the effort. ''are you trying to be polite?'' she finally spoke out and only just then lifted her eyes up. whoopsie. he wasn't exactly plain looking. ''huh? i didn't hear a word you said,'' hopefully he'll drop his hand and maybe repeat his name. he had jet black hair, right down to his shoulders and there was an incredibly smug look in his eyes now that he was very indiscreetly admiring her cleavage. nice. he was one of those. ''hm. i would hate to be a cliché, but my eyes are a little bit further than my boobs, mouth and nose. you know, just under the forehead. i take it you know at least the basics of anatomy, right?'' she forced a smile and noticed audrey wasn't next to her anymore. bitch left her alone, perfect. ''now that your friend is probably unzipping audrey's dress your mission is accomplished. you don't have to keep me company and make sure i don't interrupt their little quickie,'' she tried to turn away but then realized her cup is empty, so she just grabbed the bottle in his hands and started to pull away from him.

tagged is the beautiful indiana this post is 563 words long and i am listening to daughter for inspiration. it's short, but i'm trying my best. ^^
the only thing that he didn't want to miss out on while living his newly college-free life were, by far, the parties. after suffering an amazing headache that lasted for what seemed like years, he decided that one drop-dead night out just wasn't enough. after talking to his ex-schoolmate, a douche bag and a half called dean, he decided to join this infamous frat party which would probably be on his top of the to do list, had he not dropped out so carelessly. after an hour and a half of pouring tequila down his throat and smoking on the balcony of the large fraternity dorm, dean received a text message from his "tonight's booty call who'll bring over a friend with nice boobs". and so they went; he was holding on to his tequila bottle which was still half full and as they walked down the stairs to the living room, he started to turn his head in search for the alleged hot little blonde girl. yeah, dean was right; as they stopped to talk - or, rather, shamelessly show affection for one another in dean's and his date's case - he stepped close to the blonde and allowed himself to check her out, hair to feet. she seemed quite distracted and when dean leaned to him, saying something about finding an appropriate place to 'talk', she still didn't as much as look at him. it was only after he held out his hand, saying, "hey.. i guess we'll be stuck with each other tonight. i'm rj," that she decided to raise her eyes. it was immediately obvious that she wasn't all that fascinated - and that she wasn't going to fall at his feet after the first catchphrase he had in store. he raised his eyebrows a bit, resuming to smile, as he said, "i was just saying that.. we're stuck with each other. and that you, dollface, can call me rj." his eyes slipped a bit while he as talking, and she saw where he was looking at. he could see that she was almost immediately displeased with him and the answer to why that was, was staring directly into his face. bad, bad move. "well, well, aren't you a snappy little thing," he smiled, this time looking directly into her eyes that were so obviously tired of him, even though they were interacting for less than a minute now. so she was that kind of a girl. how very unexpected, since she bothered to show up to the frat party of the year with a slutty friend, who was probably banging at the bathroom walls with dean that very moment. she turned to walk away, clearly showing how uninterested she is, when she suddenly turned and grabbed the bottle of tequila he was still clutching in his hands. "excuse me," he said, obviously very amused by the situation. he ripped the bottle from her hands and hid it behind his back, widely smiling at her missed attempt to steal alcohol from him. "i thought you were leaving. of course, i'd be glad to share some with you," he waved with the tequila in his hand, "but my basic knowledge of anatomy and a pesky feeling inside is telling me that it probably wouldn't be good for you. don't want to end up with an unzipped dress now, do we?"

she narrowed her eyes on him, when his choice of words bothered her a whole lot. stuck with each other? ''are you for real? i'm out of here the minute i get properly buzzed. so no, dollface, we are not stuck with each other,'' really she should try to be nice and sweet, maybe that way people would get bored by her and that way they would just leave her the hell alone. but unfortunately, for some reason, unavailability held a certain charm to the male species. ''i'm indiana. really nice to meet you,'' she tried for a second time with a wide fake smile and she was probably a serious threat to barbie for the throne of fakeness. at least that's what her lips were telling here, already in pain for smiling to much. she raised her brows and nodded. ''yes, i'm a snappy little thing. and i eat cute boys like yourself for breakfast. you really should stay away from me, i'm no good. plus, i'm high maintenance. no fun in that, is there?'' a wave of nods followed but it was so obvious she was just being sarcastic. it really bothered her that audrey left her all alone, because now there was no reason whatsoever to stay at this party. all the exits were free, she could slip away and no one would notice. but the guy just wouldn't let the tequila go. what the hell?
she stomped, yes, she actually stomped towards him and refused to drop the neck of the bottle. ''yes, i'm leaving. with that tequila bottle. we'll have so much fun,'' the smile was gone and now and she was irritated. she hugged her arms around her torso and cocked her head to the side while finally taking him all in. he was taller than her, but that wasn't hard to achieve. he had sparkly eyes full of life, but that could be blamed on the liquor running through his veins. all in all, it could safely be assured that he was good looking and that meant trouble. for her. ''do you want me to stay, rj?'' the words came out and she batted her eyelashes at him. she knew of all the usual tricks girls used to seduce guys – giggling, batting eyelashes, stumbling, tickle fights, fake blushing, fake stuttering. it was pathetic. but maybe... if she tried all those stupid things, he would give up. because she would be too easy and that way not interesting at all. but a possibility of that actually happening vanished from her thoughts the next minute. ''for your knowledge, this dress doesn't have a zipper. it has buttons. and no. i don't want you to loosen up my buttons, baby,'' she said snapping once more, quoting a line from a pussycat dolls song that made her mind creech but it was very convenient at this precise moment. with a heavy sigh she removed her hold of the bottle. ''so can you keep me company outside or is your job tonight limited only to this crap hole of a house?'' she totally caved in. caved! without further ado she pushed him in front of her and all the way through the drunken crowd, until they reached the back doors and the patio behind the house. ''can i get tequila now? pretty please?'' she almost went for the puppy eyes but that would be just plain pathetic.

she was so cute, trying to be cold as stone. it was just the kind of thing that made a good looking girl much more interesting. if he knew she couldn't have her, he'd go to that more trouble trying to charm her. they were like children in kindergarten, really; snapping at each other, after both obviously realizing that the other was attractive. scratch out the tequila part and it would really be as if they were in a classroom for children at the age of five. "whatever you say," he raised his hands as if protecting himself, trying really hard to show how much he doesn't give a crap. which, unfortunately, he did. the moment she told him her name, she almost had him fooled. but no - girls like that don't just change their minds. not like that. the hidden agenda was obviously the bottle of tequila he was holding and there was no way he was giving it to her without spending a bit of quality time with the cutie. her wide smile was so obviously stating that she'd rather spend time with just about anyone except him and that was irritating and a bit charming at the same time. "well, you'd be surprised how much fun we could have. i'm no good myself as well, so that could work out just fine." he stepped a step closer, guessing that would make her a bit uncomfortable, as she was clearly stating she has no interest what so ever to even speak to him. where was he going wrong? damn it, they spoke a few lines and already she was searching for the exit door. he had no other choice but to conclude that the reason she was acting out that way was entirely her deal. maybe she really was high maintenance trouble and he shouldn't want her around. to late for that. "oh, are you?" he raised his eyebrows with a wide smile once more. did she just decide to kidnap his tequila? over his dead body. "why yes, i do, indiana," he replied, leaning his head a bit. the fake attitude really didn't suit her, plus he liked her just a bit more when she was being her snappy self. he adored hot girls, but easy conquests were just unattractive. "my mistake," he shortly apologized for his zipper mistake after her quick lecture. zippers, buttons, it was all the same; if he could take them off her sweet little body, he didn't really care what they were. but something was so clearly telling him that this girl wasn't going to make him lucky tonight. as she asked him that pretty much rhetorical question, he gasped for some air to answer, but before he could make the voice come out of his lungs, indiana was already leading him through the living room, full of hard drunks, throwing up over the expensive carpets and acting like hookers in the private rooms. quite a sight. in a minute or so they were outside, where the temperature was quite normal, the noise from inside was muffled and the strong smell of alcohol and vomit was slowly leaving his nostrils. he turned to her when she spoke, obviously still hoping he'd be the appropriate gentlemen and giving her that drink she had been hoping for ever since they first met a few minutes ago. "so i give you the bottle," he started slowly, once again waving with the hand he was holding it in, "and what do you give me to assure you're not just going to run away with it and leave me here to drown in other people's vomit?"

very often she found herself wondering, how she would end up if her parents had never died. if she hadn't been thrown across the states, moving from one godforsaken foster home to another. if she had a true shot at being perfectly happy, having a perfect childhood with her perfect family. would she still be so bitter? was this her destiny or just something the world brought out of her? on occasion she tried a different approach but it always ended badly for her. like good things weren't meant to happen to indiana rosson. she rarely used her first last name anymore. for the last 5 years she'd been indiana kennedy, the little slut with big mouth and a hard punch. she nodded, she'll stay. ''i'm staying only if i'm properly buzzed, like i said. this party is beyond lame and i have no intentions of staying the only sober person here,'' she triumphantly announced, deciding she's able to survive one night with people her age without having a constant headache and without the constant need of shutting her ears completely off. giggling really made her sick, so did over-the-top laughing. and cheesy flirty invitations boys threw around. blah. ''whatever,'' she rolled her eyes at his apology. it was just a dress – he probably knew how to get girls out of anything. probably even out of weird clown costumes. but she doubted he would look twice at someone in a clown costume. he seemed like the type to appreciate naked patched of skin, the more the better.
''do you prefer girls that walk around half naked with their pathetic animal print thongs sticking out or do you prefer shy little misses who are hidden nymphomaniacs?'' it seemed like a logical question in her head, but out loud it seemed like she wanted to know if maybe there was a chance he might like her. but she wasn't half naked and most certainly she wasn't shy and quiet, the epithom of goodness. she asked him this while making their way outside and then there was them, a few throw-uppers. she stopped on the patio and jumped up on the white wooden fence surrounding it, her legs dangling down, her hands clasping the edge so there was no danger of falling over. ''yes, yes, yes. you finally get it! you give me the bottle,'' she nodded almost excitedly when he stepped in front of her and she gave him another once-over. maybe he wasn't such a bad guy, maybe he was quite amazing, but she had no intentions of digging that deep. ''i would wish no one such a cruel fate,'' she shrugged, because honestly – no one, no matter how stupid, irritating, annoying, bitchy, deserved to drown in frat party's vomit. yuck. ''so, my beloved new friend rj whatever-your-last-name-is... why would you spend the evening here with me instead of screw some girl's brains out? unless you're gay. but i doubt that. because your a different kind of cocky than gay guys... and don't even try to deny the cocky part,'' she even winked at him and then raised her hands towards him, clearly thinking she deserved a sip from the precious bottle.

"parts of it actually aren't that lame," he said in a serious tone. he meant it, too. although she was acting strong and bored, she was immediately the person he wanted to spend the night with. sure, he'd love to be banging up some hot chick, just like his buddy dean was at that moment, but he was quite excited with how the situation worked out. he knew he wasn't getting any - it was as clear as anything - but that wasn't going to stop him from trying. he knew he might seem like a real prick, acting out as a little casanova-wannabe, but she really wasn't all that better. so why were they stuck with each other, if no one was there to hold them to the ground? he guessed she was staying for the same reason he was - because he actually saw something in her and he wanted to dig a bit deeper. or, then again, she might have really been sticking there for the tequila sake; in any case, he was glad that he had her attention. "i guess i don't really have a type," he shrugged almost immediately after the question had been asked, showing he felt that he had nothing to feel ashamed of. so what if he liked girls? it wasn't as if the guys here were any better, the only difference was that most of them were getting it on with their pretty lady friends and he - well, he was making quite an interesting new acquaintance. at the least. "do you sort yourself into any of the previously stated groups?" he raised his eyebrows. she didn't qualify for the half naked thong type, but he wouldn't really call her a shy little miss. she was was too upfront to fall into that category. and a nymphomaniac? that was the category he could easily see her in. she had this obvious act around her, being the bored to death by everything or everyone in his sight, but there was just so much more there, there had to be more. she couldn't only be this macho girl; or if she was, her next sex just might lead her to tearing the poor guy apart. "you're really not someone that can be categorized, are you?" he said, once more using the serious tone, as he glanced at her with eyes that were so obviously charmed by who was standing - better, sitting - in front of him. he then smiled, withdrawing his look and shaking his head, telling himself that this is just not the kind of girl he wants to mess around with. far too many complications, a way too serious face for a frat party. her last words really did make him smile and he slowly approached her, leaning on the wooden fence she had been sitting on. he finally gave over the bottle he had been holding and it felt as if he was finally admitting defeat. "not denying it at all," he shook his head again and crossed his hands on his chest, then he looked her straight in the eyes. "i just.." he shrugged, trying to find the right words to describe why exactly he was keeping her company when he clearly knew nothing was going to happen. but he had no reasonable explanation. "i guess i.." still no fucking clue. "okay, you know what?" he said, quite determined to lead the conversation as far away from the current topic as possible. "why don't i ask the questions and you drink that tequila?" he pointed to the bottle that was now in her hands. his bottle. oh, darn, she'd better be worth it. he knew that returning to that party meant drinking cheep beer or disgusting vine. "why are you here? i don't mean - not here, with me, i have that part pretty much figured out," he glanced at the tequila once more. "but.. at this 'incredibly stupid and lame party'. you seem strong willed, so why would you come here?"

she almost chuckled – of course he didn't have a preferred type. she kind of expected that much. it was obvious that it was enough the other person was a girl and probably there were no preferences in the terms of age, skin, hair or looks in general. she couldn't imagine any girl actually saying no to him if he was always this persistent. that is – any girl but her. but only because she wasn't into this sort of things like one night stands and casual hook-ups. she was all of making out, yep. but unfortunately it always ended somewhat messy because for some reason the guys felt the need to take everything further than first and second base. they really had to score, go all the way, like otherwise the experience wasn't nowhere near satisfying. it was pitiful indeed. the way their cocks had a mind of their own and how at certain moments they were incapable of using their upper head. the one with tiny little thing called brains. ''of course you don't,'' she shared her thoughts and gave him an eased smile. ''i only wear lace and nothing with an animal print. i'm not shy and as for the nympho thing... you'll never find out,'' she winked at him, really pleased with herself for giving him such a good answer. but then he completely surprised her and she blankly stared at him for a long minute. ''i don't know,'' she decided honesty was best and shrugged. she liked to think she can't be categorized, sorted into one little drawer, wear a label, but who was she kidding? she fell into that category of scared little girls that talk big and are too afraid of everything to let the pain go.
and then she looked down, to the floor. it was a weird thing for her, because she never ever backed down from a challenge, but this time, she looked down. as if his latter words were so close to the truth that it was embarrassing her. luckily he finally gave up the bottle found and she took it with an appreciative glance at rj. ''thank you,'' she even said and made a long sip of tequila, her throat immediately burning from liquor. disgusting. ''cocky,'' she wiggled her brows and laughed while she clenched that bottle in her hands. ''i think you find me... feisty? you think i represent a challenge. and there's a tiny bit of hope inside of you that i'll give in to your charming pursuits once i'm slightly buzzed,'' it was the psychology student speaking, she had a lot more of those theories going on inside her head. ''you're very good looking rj. you probably have a great set of abs and probably you could give the time of my life, but... really. if you're staying here for the lay... you should just leave,'' she found herself saying and it wasn't in her usual snappy tone. it was... peaceful, like she simply laid all of her cards on the table, stating things as they were and giving him a chance to back out without her holding a grunge later on. she drank from the bottle again, three long sips. give her five minutes and the effect of liquor will come to life. ''ashley thinks of me as her mini-project. she wants to make me all social and bubbly. so she dragged me here. as to why i said yes... have you met her? her and her high-pitched annoying voice that never stops talking? i came here to shut her up,'' indie answered. ''plus, there are benefits. i met you and i have tequila. i'll be drunk in ten minutes and i won't even care where i am.''

he widely smiled when she shared that she only wears lace. really? well, that was a sight. a sight he was so obviously not going to see today. such a downer for him, still, he guessed he could have squeezed out some fun for himself anyway. "what a shame," he muttered absently, his eyes lost somewhere in the courtyard where someone was spitting on the grass, obviously one hundred percent ready to empty his stomach over the chrysanthemums, carefully planted in a strict line next to the fence. why were these people so excited about parties, if they ended out vomiting half the night? he nearly never threw up, he mostly knew his limit and he took it into account, so that later he could have a great time. and these poor suckers.. oh, they were just a sad sight. as he returned to look at her, he realized he had just done something amazing. he shut her up. for a few seconds or so, but he did it. and boy, did he feel proud about it. he actually got her to look down quietly without the threat of a snappy comment to follow. if she wasn't all that high and mighty, he could perhaps even squeeze a giggle out of her. maybe another time. "well, aren't you a psych one oh one," he said with a strong tone, obviously being quite disappointed because that was all she saw in him. that was actually probably all he was, but still, the truth was never fun to hear. after her next words, he simply remained quiet for a while, looking away from the good looking girl that was so obviously not interested in any of his tricks and charms. it was painful for a male ego to hear such words, and as his ego was so high and fell so low in a matter of seconds, he needed a while to get back together. "okay," he murmured slowly, trying to stay as cool as possible, although he already knew his cover was busted. that meant he had only one option; he wasn't going to waste it. he let go of the fence and stepped in front of her, smiling widely. "so is that a definite no to all my amazing charms.." he raised his eyebrows, knowing, that he sounds like he's joking, when he really wasn't. "or is there still a glimpse of hope for me under that hard armor of yours?" he had to try; she already hit him down as it was - he only hoped that she had the heart to lie to his eyes. she was just.. something else. he didn't want to end up as just another asshole in her long line of suitors. he did warm her heart a little, so who's to say he couldn't do it some more? then again, maybe she only liked him as long as there was liquor in that tequila bottle. a sad night for him, indeed. he could be having casual sex with some drunk babe in one of the upstairs rooms and living his life exactly as he did to this day; and then this little bitchy blondie appears and all the sudden, he's infatuated with her. fuck logic. "that's cute," he said when she answered his question. so she came just to shut someone up and yes, she did just say it, she had a little bit of fun with him after all. cute. "but," he continued, reaching out with his hand, demanding the bottle back. "you're not the only one that's trying to get wasted, so i'd appreciate it.." he made a step closer to the cutie. ".. if you'd give me at least a bit of satisfaction." his fingers slowly wrapped around the neck of the bottle she was clutching in her hands.

there might have been a tiny little bitty feeling of tingles in her belly, when he muttered regret looking away from her. ''i might strip for you, if you get me drunk enough. because, mister, stripping doesn't equal sex,'' she murmured back, trying really hard to surpres a goofy smile that was starting to spread its way across her lips. it was becoming indeed alarming how she was able to almost laugh in the company of a person she met just half an hour ago. especially because that person was an attractive guy. it was safer to keep herself occupied with the bottle in her hands, so she shifted the thing from one hand to the other, back and forth, turned it around and made a little sip now and then. just to keep herself busy and just to look at something that wasn't that tall lean body of his. ''i actually am. a psych. i mean... i will be one day. i study psychology – a freshman,'' she nodded and then dared to look up, not finding what she expected. he almost seemed disappointed, as if her words got to him. ''i didn't analyze your personality, rj. i only analyzed your infatuation with me. i'm sure you're a perfectly nice person otherwise.'' it was her way of apologizing. because yes, sometimes she talked before thinking and sometimes she said stupid things just to hurt people. but she rarely felt regret. it was hard to believe she was ever different in the past. surely a seven year old girl could never compare to a bitter twenty year old woman, but she looked almost the same – long blond sun-kissed hair, big blue eyes and full lips. her attitude changed, her dreams and hopes crashed. it didn't matter that she doesn't like this new indiana, because she couldn't change back. turn back time just to fix herself up. some things just can't be fucking fixed.
''i'm emotionally unavailable. so it really isn't you, but it really is me,'' was her awkward reply and it sounded like something from a low-budget movie where no one knows how to act and they can't afford a proper screenwriter so they say shit like that and then drop a tear or two. ''i would turn down anyone. and i mean anyone. even a celebrity. except for james franco. i'd do james franco,'' she half-heartedly smiled and the air between them sizzled with awkwardness. it was better before with her snarky comebacks and his never ending prodding questions and stubbornness. now it was obvious she's someone not particularly fun. ''you seem nice,'' she suddenly found herself saying and then she almost covered her mouth with her hand, because it was such a strange observation and definitely something that came out completely non-intentionally. ''for a cocky guy that likes to get laid. you seem nice for that guy. and i seem veeeery cold for a girl that looks the-next-door type. strange pairing, aren't we?'' she continued as if she didn't slip at all. ''uuu, we're getting wasted together. catchy. i'm slightly tipsy already, so we're on a good way.'' the bottle went back to its original owner. ''satisfaction,'' she absently repeated the world and her gaze got caught on his lips when he made a sip out of the bottle. not appropriate, look away, red zone. she drummed along the fence with her fingers and nodded her head in the rhythm of a song playing inside. ''so how many people did you have sex with already? this week? today? like... one. or way more?''

her words made him bite his lip a bit, as he formed a wide smile. really? was she being inappropriately sarcastic, or was that the liquor talking? in any way, it was beyond good to hear something like that, even if it was just a tease. but it did mean something, oh yes, it meant that maybe the next time they meet - assuming there was going to be a 'next time' - she was going to be a lot less bitchy and a lot more loving. he'd like to see that, although something was telling him that if they do get a chance to see each other again, it might not be as pleasant as now. she was a bit tipsy and he so obviously wanted her; so what happens when she gets sober - and he'll still be looking at her with those infatuated eyes of his? "that was unexpected," he said quickly, knowing that - had he said something like 'then let's go' - she probably would have lost all interest in a microsecond. "are you serious?" he raised his eyebrows as she told him she was a psychology student. "i'm.. amazed," he chuckled a bit, feeling the need to explain his words. and so he continued: "i just wouldn't have thought you'd pick something as.. humane as that." he laughed to himself again, never really taking his eyes off her. god, she was gorgeous. he wanted her, he wanted to touch her, grab her, hold her close and devour her body with his kisses. or.. they could just stay here, on the terrace, talking, as if they were some kind of.. talking buddies. "you don't need to excuse yourself," he said with a crooked smile, obviously overlooking at her attempt to apologize. a very poor attempt, but an attempt nevertheless. "and yeah, i think i really am. a nice guy." he nodded his head as if approving her words. yes, he was a great guy, but the girl didn't really give him a chance, no, did she? must have had some serious childhood drama with a guy involved, and now she was scarred for life. that, or maybe she was an in-the-closed lesbo. which he seriously doubted, but then again, you can never know. or - maybe - her life goal was to torture men who liked her. that was a reasonable explanation, now, wasn't it? "you should get to know me without the frat environment. you'd be amazed," he smiled, knowing how cocky he sounded, but also knowing how his words were really true. yeah, he wouldn't just give her a nice lay, he would also give her a great time. he didn't always do that, but she was an exception straight from the start. maybe it was love at first sight - which he didn't really believe in - or maybe it was something completely else, in any way, he wanted her just a bit too much. and on with the emotional unavailability. he knew it! it must have been some trauma that left such dark shadows on her face and that locked away those shy smiles, fighting desperately to show themselves. "that's understandable," he nodded. no, he wasn't all that impressed by james franco, but he had to try something to get a glimpse of a smile out of her again. she was just so cute when the armor started melting. "even i would do james franco," he said as he nodded seriously, as if he was fantasizing about that pretty boy from time to time. not really, but it was funny, he had to admit it sounded like a good attempt. and after her next words, he gently smiled at her. her voice sounded so.. truthful. as if he really made an impact on her. as if she really was starting to see something beyond his cocky, yet charming appearance. he nodded once more, slowly, as if saying thank you or something. she, of course, immediately added a few words to make her praise a little less obvious and a little more random. "quite the team," he smiled at her, gratefully accepted the bottle and made a sip or two, not overlooking how her eyes fell to his lips a bit. just for a second or two. it was enough. he knew it! he fucking knew it! she totally wanted him, the bitch act was just a hard-to-get game. he could have sworn that she was imagining the same thing he was a few minutes ago, but she was playing it pretty cool. nevertheless, he decided to play along even after her tiny slip; with a wide smile on his face, of course. her question made him laugh; before answering, he made a few sips again and handed the bottle back to her. "a real gentleman never kisses and tells," he said, quoting a very popular saying how 'good girls don't kiss and tell'. whatever, it sounded appropriate at the situation. no, he didn't sleep with anyone today, however, he did sleep with kirsty, a very annoying and stupid - now ex - schoolmate on monday. god, was he trying to get that picture out of his head. "why would you like to know, anyway? how many have you slept with?"

''well, of course you wouldn't have,'' she thoughtfully replied. people often made presumptions about her, based on the brief not-so-friendly impression she usually made. social situations took all the energy out of her and sometimes she even tried to be somewhat pleasant. those kinds of try outs always backfired at her. it's like every time she decided to trust someone or every time she let someone close to her, they betrayed her trust in epic proportions and proved to her that it's not even worth it. but right now she wished she were different, so she could have a nice chat with rj and would make a good impression on him. ''you don't know me at all. you just know i obviously have some issues and that i wear lace. that's about the extent of your knowledge of me,'' she continued in the same tone as always, despite wanting to do the opposite. he seemed like the type that would understand what makes her tick tack, why she's constantly keeping all those fucking walls up and is uncomfortable when someone tries to come just a tiny inch too close. guys that seemed trouble always had the ability to understand her. that's why they were trouble. they shared the shadows with her, a shady past, endless list of people's accusations. ''that's good. eventually you'll stop screwing around and settle down with a nice simple girl,'' she smiled a little, hoping that her words would irritate him. that he would say that'll never happen, because he didn't want to stay in one place or with someone plain and boring. honestly, simple girls always seemed like a new level of boredom to her, but then again her judgment had always been clouded by her ego.
''fine,'' she immediately agreed, ''we'll have coffee tomorrow afternoon and you can be amaze me then.'' what was she talking about? why was she even saying this? this meeting wasn't even suppose to happen and when she walked to this party, she had no intentions of chatting with anyone. much less giving out invitations for rendez-vous alongside a cup of coffee. but maybe she wouldn't mind seeing him again from time to time in the near future. maybe. at this point she successfully got rid of that annoying tingling feeling in her stomach, got used to his piercing gaze and the nearness of him. ''oh, now i'm thinking about a threesome with you and franco. bad thoughts, bad bad,'' she laughed and shook her head so her long blond curls trashed around her shoulders. without shame she loved her hair, it looked a lot like hair porn when she shook it around like that. ugh, stop thinking about porn! any kind of porn!
she kind of expected he'll return the question, even though he didn't really answer hers. ''none,'' she replied without a hint of hesitation. she only admitted she hadn't slept with anyone this week. the reality was she had never slept with anyone but he didn't need to know that. not when they were barely on the first name basis. or ever. ''and this is probably the part where you offer to show me what i've been missing,'' she winked trying to find a lighter topic, before he could ask more questions and non-intentionally stumbled on that priceless topic of her virginity and how she acted like a tough badass when in reality she was anything but. ''the part where i politely decline you,'' she chuckled with a light tone. tequila was meanwhile changing owners and she made her final sip. ''anyhow, i guess i'll be going back to my apartment now.'' her fingers rolled the top of the bottle, shutting it impossibly tight and then returning it to rj. ''hm. thanks for keeping me company. i do hope you manage to still get something out of this evening beside the blue balls syndrome.'' with that she jumped down from the fence and stumbled right into him, successfully grabbing his shoulders in order not to land flat down on her ass. whoopsie. drunk.

tagged is the beautiful indiana this post is 682 words long and i am listening to snow patrol for inspiration.
"i'm not taking psych one oh one, but i think i know just a bit more than that," he said with a soft smile on his face. did she really think he couldn't read between the lines? he could see it in her eyes; there was something that was holding her back, always holding her back. she seemed strong and tough, but somewhere beneath all that armor, she was really pretty much scared of being hurt. then again, weren't they all? she wanted to be the nice girl, but she couldn't, because being the nice girl got her hurt before. his first guess would be that her father left and she was blaming it on herself. that, or, what would be a little harder to work with - her first boyfriend, the undying love, left her just as she was starting to open his heart to him. or one combined with the other. then again, maybe there was some other worldly drama going on in her life that he could never ever understand and he was just being a smart ass. so he said nothing of his predictions, simply staring at her with the same charmed and charming look he had been using for the past twenty minutes or so. "simple was never my type," he shook his head a bit, smiling at himself. he was wondering if he'll ever have the ability to settle down, since he adored girls just a bit too much. yeah, fore some time, for sure, but he could never see himself as a family man; no, he was more like the walk-out deserting his loved ones kind of man. god, was he a dirt bag. "is that a date?" he raised his eyebrows seductively, trying to hold down the wide smile that was once more creeping up his face. did she just.. kind of.. agreed to going out with him? his mind was blown; for a flicker of a second, he imagined them doing it in a hotel room immediately after getting coffee - but that image blured quite quickly, as he realized that indiana would never go for that. "cause i will be glad to accept that offer." alright, so maybe sex wasn't included, still, he wasn't really a nymphomaniac or something - and he could manage without sex just a little bit longer. there were plenty girls to go around at the party anyway and if indiana wasn't planning on spending the night with him, he could definitely find some kind of replacement. god, he was an ass hole, now, wasn't he? he laughed out loud to her words about a threesome with franco; god, was that really a fantasy of every women? what was that about? then he raised his eyebrows as she said she slept with none. well, maybe she really was nothing like him, right? well, he didn't really sleep with anyone this week, too, but obviously that was expected of him. her, on the other hand - she really didn't seem like that type of girl. what was he expecting? he was holding the bottle in his hands again, as she almost offered to give herself to him, and then took the offer back as quickly as she gave it. he couldn't say anything, but he kept that soft smile on his face, as he sipped the last drops of tequila. "alright," he nodded, knowing quite perfectly that asking her to stay would lead to no good. she just might get pissed of, saying something like 'i already told you i'm not screwing you' or something.. not a nice scene to picture. "careful," he managed to say before she bumped into his chest. if this wasn't an opportunity, nothing was. he glanced at her eyes for a few seconds - and then he quickly decided to lean in for a kiss. it was as if something exploded when he felt her soft lips next to his; god, he was waiting for this the entire night. she was so smooth, she smelled nice and tasted like tequila and something really sweet.

note: okay, you can finish it up from his side and then we're done with part one.
that soft smile of his was almost enough to completely undo her. she fought it the only way manner knew – rolling her eyes and snorting as if his words held no importance whatsoever. he probably really knew more about her than just a few mere facts. he definitely looked at her that way – like he knew she's hiding something big behind her tough exterior. she could only guess what he thought was going on behind the curtains of her mind, so she decided to keep her mouth wisely shut and not give him any more ideas. ''it's only coffee. black bitter beverage. not a motel key. don't try to blow a simple suggestion out of proportions or i'll be sorry i even agreed to hanging out with you.'' it was kind of hard not so smile, though. he was really sweet in a weird way and he in all likelihood didn't even realize that. most of ordinary twenty-something guys gave up when it was clear they won't be able to get inside her pants – in that moment their charming smiles dropped and they sulked away, pouting like little babies who didn't get their favorite candy. rj stayed. which said a lot. ''tomorrow at three o'clock in that little cafe on arizona square. it's called michetti, good italian coffee, no giggling sorority girls. we'll be fine there,'' she continued, while nodding at every word. she wasn't completely sure in this idea of hers. why did she even suggested anything at all? stupid and foolish. at the annunciation of her departure, she jumped down but then the ground started moving beneath her feet. ''i'm fin...'' she used her most common words as she stumbled a little and then successfully caught herself on his forearms but still bumped her head into his chest. nice hard chest, she noticed. ouch. god damned tequila. she was really starting to lose her sobriety and the world has definitely started to spin all around her, making her dizzy. but the small distance between them was the one most unbearable. a part of her wanted to get closer to him, a part of her begged for an escape. his palms closed around her elbows as he held her steady, making sure she wouldn't lose her balance once more. her breathing needed only one second to go over-charts and an insecure look probably crossed her eyes as she realized he's leaning in. there was more than enough time for her to move out of the way, to twist her head to side so his lips would get caught on her cheek. but yet she stood there as his lips covered hers. her right hand tried to push against his navel, but somehow she only managed to grab his shirt without putting an end to this. her lips had a mind of its own as they eagerly moved against his, savoring his spicy taste mixed with tequila. only when she found herself pressed between his body and the fence did she came back to her senses. her hand finally listened to her and she pushed him gently away but it was by far enough for him to stop this nonsense. then she slapped him. then she covered her mouth with that slapping hand, not fully understanding what she'd just done and she'd done it. ''i'm sorry,'' she mumbled as she gripped the edge of the fence behind her. ''i didn't mean to... i... you shouldn't have done that.'' dropping her arm, she stepped away from him and started walking with small determined steps that would lead her away from the party. ''good night, rj,'' were her last words. fuck, that kiss was short but it most certainly ignited a small fire.

"excuse my blowing out of proportions," he said calmly as he raised his hands, again, as if he was surrendering. he nodded at her suggestion, oh, god, he was actually getting her for.. a whole coffee time! oh god, this was too good. he got a smile out of her and he got himself an almost-date! amazingly awesome. he couldn't stop smiling, it felt as a complete victory. he didn't need to sleep with her to feel great, this was even a bit greater. she was this hard nutshell that was slowly ripping apart and showing him the cuteness inside. and just as he felt he was getting her to toss that hard armor away, another unexpected thing happened. he got slapped in the face. he just stood there for a while, processing the situation that occurred, one that he really wasn't prepared for. and it made him fall for her just a little bit more. she was always doing the unexpected, saying the unexpected, she was something that he was craving for easily. how was it that he was just meeting her for the first time? she was someone that was obviously meant to be next to him. he needed her. he needed to get to know her, to be by her, oh god, she got him crazy in a matter of minutes! he wanted to say something, maybe something like, well, oh, that was.. unexpected. but when he looked at her, her face was so obviously stating that she didn't see it coming as well. none of it, probably. the kiss was his fault, but he was pretty sure she didn't mean to lean in for that long and that the slap wasn't planned as well. his fault, for sure, still she let her guard down. something that she didn't do very frequently, he supposed. "i, uh," he murmured, trying to say something smart or witty or.. something, whatever, something that would smooth up the situation. but he had nothing. before he could even formulate words, she turned away and all he could see was her amazingly good looking back and the curls that were falling down her shoulders. "o-kay.." he said to himself as she was slowly disappearing in front of his eyes. "goodbye, indiana." no, she wasn't going to show up at their three o'clock meeting.. he could have figured so at that precise moment. god, did he really screw this up.. or did he make her crave him just a little bit? this was going to be interesting for sure. he knew that for him, she was going to instantly become the only thing he could think of. god, her lips just felt so.. so soft and sweet and, and.. she was like a little pill that immediately made him want more. the fact that she blew him off for the second time now was just an addition to her attractive self. he stood there for a few more minutes and finally, a wide smile set upon his face. this girl was going to be his. that was his decision then and there and he was going to do anything that was in his power to make that happen.
