note; tralala, lets get it on.
this was a wrong way to deal with problems, he knew that. he shouldn't be letting some redheaded bimbo push a tongue down his throat and he shouldn't be kissing her fiercely when he had absolutely zero feelings for her. he didn't even find her attractive and she was simply a distraction. a lousy one at best. so he managed to pull away five minutes ago and patiently explain to her that he's bored with her and she should leave. she did, surely glaring at him, but she did. and now he was alone at the table and his fingers were darting around his phone's keyboard, typing a message for elsie. surely if there was one person in the entire world who would guarantee him a good mood, it was her. for fuck's sake, he had a child. he was a father. he was someone's father. and it wasn't like before with all the baby dramas he had to suffer through, when random women would show up at his door, claiming he fathered their child. no. he was absolutely sure that he has a son with sabriel lombardi and he didn't even need a paternity test to prove it. he just knew. he reacted the wrong way, he panicked. and he was pretty sure she'll never speak to him again, which was the main thing that pissed him off. because he fell for her a long time ago and now he was doing it again. stupid and foolish. the phone beeped but the sound was hushed by the music surrounding him, elsie texted him back. she was coming. apparantely she was in the club across the street so it shouldn't take her long. he caught the waiter's look and made a clear gesture he wants another drink. he wasn't in the mood for expensive stuff, so he simply ordered a bottle of vodka and a few energy drinks. that should do.
he planned to get completely hammered. straight to the point of resignation, when his mind would be buzzing with zero thoughts. ten minutes later the drinks were on his table and they were letting elsie inside the VIP lounge. he should at least be drinking at his own club for free, but his staff shouldn't see him like that. plus, there was just too many fucking memories in that club. ''elsie, love,'' he immediately greeted her with a plastered smile and quickly noticed she wasn't exactly sober. ''drunk, much?'' he wiggled his brows and patted the empty spot on the sofa beside him, where the redhead lingered before. ''you know how they say that redheads are feisty and passionate and a bunch of other shit?'' he looked to her and then sighed, ''they lie.'' she was honestly his last hope of making this evening better. he had no plans of telling her why was he here hammered, why did he and lexie broke up and he didn't plan to ask questions about her break up either. they were single, both drunk already - this should be a simple get-together and not a therapy session. ''i have vodka and energy drinks. i don't want to remember my own name twenty minutes from now, so we should start. raise it up,'' he spoke while pushing a drink towards her and getting one for himself. ''i think we should cheer to old times. to days when you wore hello kitty underwear and you bought me superman briefs for my sixteenth birthday.''

she was drunk. that much was painfully obvious, more so by the fact she was letting a random guy grope her. wait, no. that was just the way she was. giggling at the thought she pushed her hand through his hair and closed her eyes. if she closed her eyes it felt like she was with colton. no. no. she wasn’t going to do that. not tonight. she spent the last few days in her bed, bawling her eyes out over a certain dark haired fireman who made her think her life could be different. he made her believe she could change, become someone better who deserved someone like him. what a load of bull. so here she was, on a wednesday night, drunk as a kite, in some vip area of some club. it was so like her, like the else she used to know – wild, out of control, and dangerous. it felt like meeting an old friend, someone she tried very hard to forget but in the end she knew it was futile – there was no point in denying who she truly was. finally, she grew tired of the awful guy on top of her, to be honest there wasn’t anything wrong with him. he was probably a nice guy actually, good looking, maybe a little gropey judging by the hand that was already traveling up her thigh. but he wasn’t him, and no one ever will be. without giving him any explanation she pushed him off her, stood up and left like she was some goddamn ice queen – but she didn’t care, not about anything these days really. her phone beeped in her purse and she prized it out with shaky hands. he didn’t call her, or text her since they last saw each other so why would he call her now? yet every single time her phone rung her heart started beating wildly. thankfully it was just maddox and she smiled to herself. perfect. he wasn’t just her best friend but also her favorite fuck buddy, her boyfriend when they were just teenagers. they hadn’t given in to their urges for a while now – last she heard they were both trying to lead respectable lives. but now, here they were.
it didn’t take her long to cross the street into the busy nightclub where he was and to get into the vip area. her short silver dress would probably get her there alone, but luckily he was her ticket. “hey maddie.” she smiled at him as she plopped herself down next to him. “pot calling kettle black much?” she answered gaily and nudged him slightly away so she had more space on the couch they were occupying. he wasn’t exactly sober, and that’s just how she liked him. she had no idea where the comment came from until she noticed the fiery redhead standing by the bar, sending murder looks at them. “whoa, please don’t let her kill me would you?” she muttered and shook her head, and nodded in agreement. “agreed, let’s get so shitfaced drunk they have to throw us out.” god she missed him, maddox this time – or at least what he represented. she knew he’d never judge her, and with him she could truly be herself. she downed her first drink before he could even finish his toast and started to prepare another one when her hands stilled. sighing she shook her head. “i’m guessing we both fucked up big time, huh?” she had no intention of talking about their exes but so that much was obvious. she finished preparing their second drinks and pushed the glass in his hands. “to easier times, when we fucked like monkeys and that didn’t seem like a fatal flaw but only ‘being young’. i miss those times.” she finished and downed her drink before rolling her eyes. “and whatever, you liked my hello kitty pants, though i suspect you’ll like the ones i’m not wearing now even better.” there was no denying why they were here, why they ended up in each other’s company. “still know your name?”

''fuck, i missed you,'' he simply stated then pulled her closer to him when she started to sit down. in the back of his mind there was always this thought, this knowledge of elsie hocking. when life started to shit on him, she'll be there. she'll be there and she won't let him down, no matter the price. it was something he appreciated a lot. in twenty-eight years of his life he only met a few people over the years he had truly trusted to. elsie, his brother, james and hanna. his brother was on the run from his ex- fiancée and was doing who knows what, who knows where and even who knows who. james was long gone. and his relationship with hanna became too heavy for him to carry on. the difference between the blond and the brunette was obvious. he slept with hanna once and felt guilty for it. he slept with elsie on numerous occasions and never felt a single sign of guilt. she was right for him, they were always on the same page. the two mavericks of their families. ''i don't know. i'm in the mood to see a girl fight. i have no doubt you could kick her skinny ass from here to china. she would deserve it. she's annoying. and i swear that her tongue has a mind of its own – not in a good way,'' he sighed while glancing at the nameless redhead, who had her eyes deadly set on them. ''nah, i can't afford to get thrown out. my name is already all over newspapers, i don't want to add this to the pile too,'' he said and then downed another drink. he was sure that very soon numbness will settle in. it had to.
he pushed another glass towards her and took one for himself then raised his brows and shook his head: ''i did nothing to fuck up.'' it was true. he was a boyfriend who bought lexie flowers and showered her with attention. but it wasn't meant to be and they both knew it. once the infatuation ran out and once the sex became dull, they stopped. he slept with sabriel, yes. he kind of screwed his brother's ex-fiancée, yes. but lexie didn't know it and it wasn't the reason why the broke up. ''i'm not this fucked up because of my ex-girlfriend, els. but i don't want to talk about it. we'll do that tomorrow, or the day after that, or better yet - never,'' he sighed, raising a glass to her cheer. her words actually made him think. both of them were always so impulsive, always acting upon their basic instinct, that they were always destined to come crashing down. but while it lasted it was good and they never broke up on bad terms. ''i'll like them alright,'' he nodded without actually hearing her, his mind was already far away. something about her underwear. ''are we talking about your underwear?'' he zoomed back in and looked down to her bare thighs where the dress shifted slightly up, revealing more of her pale ravishing skin. ''yeah, i need another one,'' he answered and reached for the fourth cup. ''we'll go to my place, since you still need to find your own apartment. it would be weird if you had to sneak me in to your parents house, ugh,'' he shuddered with a glimpse of a smile, they both knew where this was leading, no point in pretending. ''i hate it when we get like this. it's kind of similar to eating candy when you're a kid. you know you shouldn't, because it's bad for your teeth and because your mother said you shouldn't. but you still do it, because that single minute of chocolate in your mouth is worth all the trouble,'' he looked back up from her thighs and pushed the tiny strap of her dress aside.
